The Research Business Office provides services to investigators in various scopes, some of which are: grant application support, fiscal and administrative support, and clinical trial agreement development & execution.
Grant Application Support
- Prepares grant budget
- Develops consortium and subcontract agreements
- Collaborates with granting agencies
Fiscal and Administrative Support
- Reviews and accepts awards on behalf of The Queen's Medical Center (QMC)
- Establishes required financial accounts at QMC
- Manages revenues and expenses
- Ensures compliance with sponsors' fiscal terms and conditions
- Provides financial reports to investigators
Clinical Trial Agreement Development & Execution
- Reviews and finalizes agreement between sponsor and QMC
- Negotiates study budget with sponsor
- Collaborates with study sponsor and principal investigator
Schedule of Fees
The following are The Queen's Medical Center's start-up and ongoing fees for industry-sponsored clinical trials. Inclusive of overhead, final fees are subject to contract negotiation. All start-up fees are assessed independent of IRB approval or subject enrollment and are non-refundable. *Fees subject to change.
- Start-up fees:
- Initial IRB Review - $3,500
- review of protocol, informed consent, advertisements, and related documents
- Administrative Start-up - $3,000
- contract and budget negotiation
- document preparation for initial IRB review
- Pharmacy Set-up - $2,000
- Ongoing fees:
All subsequent re-submissions and renewals requiring IRB review are assessed fees per event. The following fees include QMC staff time associated with document preparation.
- IRB Renewal - $2,000 per renewal
- IRB review of amendment/revision - $2,000 per amendment/revision
- review amendments concerning protocol, informed consent, advertisements, and related documents
- Serious adverse events - $250 per occurence
- Investigational new drug - $150 per occurence
- Monitor site fee - $600 per visit
- Study closure fee - $1,500
- Record Archiving - $500 per year
- Pharmacy dosing fee - to be determined per study
